I use it for taking notes in class and it's awesome. This works flawlessly. And it shipped super fast.
I should have known when I heard her laugh. I was advised by the Microsoft Corporation representative to upgrade from 2004 version and mentioned that I had not done so because I had heard there were such problems with 2008 version. This service is great. Although I like some of the newest features of Microsoft office: Mac 2008-home and student edition, I am very disappointed each time Entourage and Word bomb out, which happens frequently. I continually choose to report this feature but unfortunately get neither feedback nor upgrade to fix problems. Needless to say, I'm quite disappointed with this product.I might hasten to add that I have been extremely pleased with Amazon as I have ordered several items recently.
Powerpoint is okay but I haven't used it much.Support is somewhat limited (is that because Microsoft Office is rolling out the next version this year). I give it a 3 (should be a 2-1/2). Word is much improved, but I don't use the Entourage email program (By the way, it doesn't interface with Google email - why not). I don't plan to buy Windows anytime soon.
Sort of. Excel is not what I expected. By the way, I preserved Office 2004 because I heard that 2008 Excel doesn't support macros. I had relearn things over again. Had been using Office for Mac 2004 but found that in some cases I couldn't open new version Office files (Word). I had gotten used to the 2004 version (using Print Preview to fine tune the doc). It's kind of buggy (when I try to edit the header, that bar is in the way - What is it called). The only way to get answers is through Mactopia - Also, the help function is wacky.
I can feel the discrimination from those Microsoft folks - they obviously prefer PC's to the superior Mac's. I've been wanting to upgrade to Office 2008 for quite a while. Well, 2008 doesn't do it the same way. Am I satisfied.
Provides the necessities for my grad school work. Efficient and easy to work with. Overall, good product for students. I found MS Office 2008 for Macs very useful and a life-saver as a student. No compatibility issues with docs or presentations. One thing I do miss is MS Publisher, but I can live without it.
As a former pc user, I tried Apple's office suite for Mac but just couldn't make the switch comfortably. The price was great; the delivery time was more than reasonable and the product is terrific. I went back to the Microsoft product and am delighted but I really do love my Mac.
